Yesterday:
Went to auntie Gan Hiong's house for a Chinese Worship Min gathering. Haven't seen the Adam group in a long time. We were the second family there and the corridor was so narrow that i scratched my arm on a protruding cactus. it only hurts when i touch it. but when i showed Joey she was like, EEEEE! Her family was the latest cos her dad's in Philippines so uncle Roland had to pick them up. We big kids (Eileen Pris Aaron Joey Kat and Me) went up to sit on the err...whatever. y'know, the platform between two floors? yeah. it was really airy and windy cos we were on the highest one. I finished my dessert and the wind knocked my bowl over and the dunno how many milligrams of longan and sea cucumber err...juice? and Eileen said it looked like a ghost. Kat said it looked like a dog's head. Joey took the spoon and flicked more (juice) we didn't know was there. They evaporated within one minute.
Pris, Kat, Joey and I came down first while Aaron and Eileen were still reading Archie comics. Pris is such a pro. Joey was so scared. She hasn't skated for like, 2 years. My roller blades were hurting my leg so Pris called home to ask Eileen to bring down a plaster. I used Joey's skates instead while she and Kat were playing badminton. we skated some time and then we decided to go back cos i kept falling down. I haven't skated for that long a time. by the time we got back Aaron was down and playing badminton with Kat. I joined Kat while Joey changed back into her skates. It was her turn. The strong wind kept blowing the shuttlecock to our left. Joey and Pris came back and sent Kat to go up and get money to buy drinks. Then they told us something they saw. That was one serious moment. Maybe if I had gone all the way to the end of the road I would have seen it but whatever. I'm always the ignorant one. Kat took a long time cos she had to change lots of notes for coins cos there was only a vending machine. I still remember that machine. They had one like that in Adam and it swallowed $2.20 of Joey and my money. We bought 2 cans of QOO and a lot of Coke. Joey told me no one understands QOO. Joey Kat and I walked the pebbles but it wasn't so bad for Joey cos she was wearing socks. Kat was screaming.
We shifted our stuff to a nearby playground. While we were shifting the stuff across the road some crazy driver almost knocked us down. then Eileen clung on to a pillar cos there was a slope and she was on skates it was so scary for her and some insensitive girl stared at her as if she were deranged. Eileen said walao why don't she try it it's so scary see what she do. I kept quiet. I do not like saying bad things about others. makes me wonder if others are doing the same to me. All of a sudden they started screaming and i knew it was a bug. I just didn't know where. It scared me because I didn't know how close it was. Then they started pointing and i saw it. it ws a cockroach. i thought it looked strange cos it's head was sticking out and it's feelers were standing up instead of in front of it. Eileen screamed. They all screamed except Aaron and I. Pris and Eileen skated around the void deck while the rest of us played crocodile. there was a mother and her little boy there and i heard her ask softly if we could include him and i felt bad for her cos it was too rough a game and the others didn't seem to hear her.
they're like that. we grew up together. we're a clique but i don't share all their memories. my dad left the chinese min for a while so i lost contact with them for a while. Many a time they talk about some camp and i don't remember cos i wasn't there. they're like that. they're so close they're exclusive. they always had someone there for them they don't understand how it feels to be left out. they fit in with themselves. they belong. i don't. i never did belong anywhere. they speak expletives like they're not saying anything vulgar. and i wonder what happened to them along the way.
When we got back almost everyone was gone except our families. we went into the room and played cheat and the game of life. i was the second highest in spite of being the second slowest. Then our parents interrupted our game and told us we were going home but we waited a long time for
them. Adults. How tragic.
